Why Maintaining a CRM is Essential
A well-maintained CRM ensures that:
- You have an organized system for tracking leads and clients.
- You can accurately assign and monitor leads in different sales pipeline stages.

Contacts Tab Overview
When you first log in to Go High Level, your dashboard provides an overview of all your contacts and sales pipeline data. From here, you can:
- View total opportunities and their statuses.
- Check conversion rates.
- See where leads are in the sales funnel.
- Analyze revenue potential.
Having an organized contact list allows you to nurture leads effectively and respond to clients in a timely manner.
Manually Adding Contacts
To manually add a contact, follow these steps:
- Click on the Contacts tab.
- Click + Add Contact.
- Enter relevant details like name, email, phone number, and lead status.
- Assign them to a pipeline or automation workflow.
- Click Save to store the contact.
Once added, you can enrich the contact with additional information, assign tags, and integrate them into automation sequences.
Using Tags Effectively
Tags help categorize and segment your contacts for better marketing and organization. To add or remove tags:
- Select a contact.
- Click Add Tag or Remove Tag as needed.
- Use tags to filter contacts for marketing campaigns.

- Downloaded Guide
- Paid Client
- Needs Follow-up
Importing and Exporting Contacts
- Importing Contacts: Upload a CSV file and map fields like name, phone, and email. Custom fields can also be mapped.
- Exporting Contacts: Ensure all required columns are selected before exporting.
Smart Lists and Filters

Filters and Smart Lists help streamline contact management. You can:
- Filter contacts based on tags, lead sources, or engagement status.
- Create Smart Lists for frequently used contact groups.
- Automate email marketing by sending campaigns to specific Smart Lists.
Assigning Leads and Permissions
For businesses with multiple team members, assigning leads is crucial. You can:
- Assign leads to specific team members.
- Restrict access to contacts based on roles.
- Ensure that sales reps only see their assigned leads.
Managing Communication Logs
